He was able to complete each section of the practice test. However, it did seem to tax his mind to put each of the individual steps together into one cohesive construction project in the time constraints given him. He did such an excellent job with his work today that he earned ten extra credit points on his upcoming test.

We discussed changing from HTML coding from 1st semester to learning about the Arduino (microcontroller) and microcontroller coding in the 2nd semester.
Cabo was led through a review of the material from last session. He was asked questions about the characteristics of tables that we currently know how to manipulate.
Cabo was then taught about modifying the size of tables.
He was shown examples and then asked to resize several parts of a table.
Coding - Cabo finished his first page on his 3 page site. He then started on his 2nd page where he is taking more of the lead. We discussed the format of the remaining 2 pages. He decided to stay true to the site's purpose of getting his Youtube channel more views. The reasoning behind his design was that subscribers can help to lead to consistent views and that people may be more likely to subscribe if they get to know his story better. So he would present a little bit of his story and of Little Buddy's story.

Cabo gave me approval to show Ben his site. Ben laughed aloud 3 times when looking at Cabo's site. This makes me feel that he is connecting with his target audience (other teen's, tweens, and youths that watch games on Youtube).
Cabo and I discussed the requirements of the website that he is to build for his project.
He showed me some other projects on which he has worked. He was informed that while impressive, those projects would not satisfy the needs of this assignment.
Cabo and I discussed the master layout of his three connected pages. He was given time to code during class.
Ben and I worked on his visual communications skills.
Ben was charged with walking through the process of creating a short video having to deal with a preferred topic of his choice.
He walked me through his format choice. We discussed his reservations about being on film or having his voice recorded. We discussed how others had overcome these specific barriers.
He was good at identifying nuanced format details such as voice over video games, with 3D graphic enhancement and visual overlays in the foreground.
Today, he generated his first lines of code for the site. He opted to tackle the parts of his site in order of ease of creation instead of appearance on the page.
This order required him to assign a difficulty value to different tasks which can be a great meta-learning exercise.
His work was good, but he needs to accomplish more during the in-class coding sessions.
Cabo was charged with completing a series of test review problems.
He scored a near perfect score on each of the problems. He only struggled with minor errors such as missing a space after or prior to a concatenation.
He had used one solution to presenting a number as a string in a concatenation. At the end of the class, I made sure to show another possible way to achieve a similar result.
