In the morning we read a story about a pond habitat. This lead to our afternoon discussion on habitats. Kelcy was asked to select a habitat he wanted to research. He selected the rainforest. He was provided with a few questions that would be used to help locate information needed for this project and off we went , clipboard in hand, to a computer. He was provided several links to information on his habitat. Using the keyboard and the mouse he navigated through the web collecting the information needed. He then took the information and made an nonfiction informational book. He will complete his book tomorrow and wants to share it with his family. He is excited about bringing it home.

Typing Club/Programming
Lesson Outline
This morning Charlie began with Typing Club. He forgot it was Tuesday so he didn't bring his own computer so we used a computer in another classroom. He did well with the different lessons he was working on and scored a100% on a few. He was working specifically on the middle row of the keyboard. Charlie also did some reading comprehension lessons on the computer where he read a passage and answered 5-6 questions per passage. Charlie did well on those, too! Finally Charlie showed me what he had been working on with "Dash". He programmed it to go around the green square in his room and it even danced at the end. Very neat!
