This morning, Dane completed a warm-up on finding equivalent fractions, determining the operations needed to solve word problems, and solving multi-digit equations using all operations. From this warm-up, we focused our lesson on reviewing how to use multiplication to find equivalent fractions and how to place the decimal properly when multiplying decimal amounts. Dane finished with Kanoodle, a puzzle great for enhancing problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategic thinking skills.
Agility training warmup with the ladder-

Today's lesson focused on Geography Dane worked on completing the unit project. Dane finished painting, writing narratives for his vacations, and looking for pictures to include in the project. Dane discussed his interest in learning about pirates and questioned if they still exist today. He watched fun facts about boating and airplanes. Dane was on task.
Dane started off class by learning to use the "fill" tool. This is a tool that allows you to fill in color a lot faster by defining a shape that needs to be entirely one color. Dane worked on using the fill tool to fill in the second character's clothes, face and hair. Dane then learned how to use the "airbrush" tool, set to "soft blend" to add well blended shadows and highlights to the pants, arms, etc.
Dane finished adding his dialogue boxes to the first page. He then started a new page for his second character. Dane uploaded an image to Procreate, that we had drawn of a character during his gesture drawing lesson. I had Dane see if he remembered how to turn down the opacity of the reference layer so that is easier to trace. Then he began to trace his gesture drawing. Once finished, we moved on to finalizing the character's outlines. I helped him to correct the proportions of the head and the position of the feet.
We reviewed the nervous system and then learned about our integumentary system (skin, hair, and nails). We took our fingerprints with the pencil-method and compared them to one another.
