We watched the movie version of our literature book, "The Indian in the Cupboard," comparing and contrasting how they were alike and how they were different.
Dane used class to add dialogue boxes and speech bubbles to his first page, using the Syrup tool to create perfect straight lines. Then he worked on finishing box characters first look/poses.
Brainstorm dialogue for Dane's characters. Use comics, Manga's and other graphic novels to get inspiration for how the comic page will look and what his characters will be doing and saying.
Today's lesson focused on geography. Dane worked on identifying all the states in our nation and central America. He completed timed quizzes several times and worked on increasing his speed in identifying them quickly.

We reviewed his spelling words and his spelling homework for tonight. We listened to, discussed, and made predictions over chapters 11, 12, and 13 of, "Indian in the Cupboard."
Dane and I began with a review of last night's homework on naming triangles, choosing the correct form of measurement, multi-digit division and multiplication problems, and number patterns. Then, Dane worked on elapsed time word problems, long division with 3-digit dividends and 1-digit divisors, listing factors and determining prime or composite, and writing fractions on a number line.
