Warm-up activity, multiplication egg carton, STEM activity
Lesson Outline
Paige and I began our session with painting the second layer of her multiplication egg carton. Next, we will add designs. I am so happy Paige enjoyed the egg carton and will be able to learn her multiplication facts while having fun doing so. I am happy she wanted to decorate it to make it specially for her. Paige then completed two, five question warm-up activities, receiving 5/5 and 4/5. Paige needed reminders to simplify and rounding to the nearest hundredth. For example, 2/4 = 1/2. Paige then completed a place value activity, reading expanded form and changing to standard form. Lastly, Paige completed a STEM activity, sharing from school today, creating an airplane out of an index card, a straw, and tape. She was so excited to share. Excellent session!

Math - formulas, grammar - commas
Lesson Outline
Paige and I began our session with reviewing her math homework - 13.3 - using a formula to find volumes of rectangular prisms. We then completed the word problems that were not yet started. Paige struggled with one problem and we reviewed the best strategy for her. Paige then completed a grammar activity focusing on commas - lists, independent & dependent clauses, non-essential word phrases, and phrases at the beginning of the sentence. Paige did excellently with this activity, identifying where the missing commas go and coming up with great examples. Paige and I then began painting her multiplication egg carton. We will continue painting during our next session. Paige then completed a 5-question warm-up sheet, receiving 4/5, struggling with identifying right angles. Lastly, Paige read aloud this week's poem that she has to recite. I enjoy working with Paige so much. She genuinely loves to learn and is so smart and sweet.
