Go over Andrew's sketchbook work and use class to make any final touches to his ten drawings. Talk about how we can improve his sketchbook practice. Work on Andrew's still life drawing for the entirety of class. Work on finding the negative shapes between objects so that the spacing is correct and objects have the right size, angles and proportions. We went over using your vine charcoal stick or a pencil as a tool to measure an angle of something. He practiced using that method for things that have foreshortening as they can be tough to draw.

Start class by going over Andrew's sketchbook to see where he is at with his 10 sketches that are due Friday. We went over the last one he worked on at home and talked about going more in depth with contrast. Used the remainder of class to complete one entire sketchbook page.

Start Still Life in class using a combination of vine and compressed charcoal. Start off by choosing a place around the still life to sit and then choose a composition. We went over how you can zoom in and exclude items, crop them, etc. Start sketching the composition on a large sheet of drawing paper with vine charcoal.
