I introduced Atticus to an artist named Jay Scott Campbell. I walked him through his career and how it related to his project to create a comic book. Atticus and I refined his character design.
This morning, Atticus worked on the unit test review, having to start from the beginning because the one assigned for homework was left at home. We pulled up the online version and Atticus was able to complete a few of the questions. He was encouraged to complete the remaining questions tonight, bring back the review from home, and ask any questions tomorrow before he begins the unit test.

I further addressed punctuation issues as we wrote. After completing the body, we discussed the purpose of a conclusion which Atticus then drafted. At the end of the exercise,Atticus had completed a good essay. Last, we completed a practice quiz on the final chapters. There will be a final test on the novel tomorrow.
Today, Atticus and I completed our daily gardening log observations. We then went into the biology lab and used the microscope to observe cells in slides of an onion and various other slides. We got hands-on practice safely and carefully manipulating the microscope to achieve the highest resolution possible. Today, Atticus skipped his fifteen minute daily sketch so that we could use our two periods of class to finish Lino printing. We used the first half of class to finish carving out the rest of the design. We only had a few small details to carve left such as the outline of the hair and the face. Once finished, we tested out our roller and inks. Atticus chose to do his prints in crimson, plum and navy blue. Before printing on our final printing paper, Atticus did a few test prints. Then we finished with his final prints and put them on the drying rack.
Atticus and I reviewed and corrected last night's homework on multiplying fractions and the dividing decimals problems were not complete and finished in class. We are going to start writing his homework in his planner to alleviate any homework confusion. Then, our lesson continued on how to divide mixed numbers. Atticus worked independently on these problems and applied this skill to real-world problems. For homework, Atticus was given a practice test to prepare for the unit test later this week.
