Lesson Outline
Atticus showed good initiative in preparing some essay idea notes over the weekend . We completed the first paragraphs last week and today continued instruction on preparing and organizing a multi-paragraph essay . Using Atticus' notes, we discussed additional supporting textual examples for his middle paragraph and examined how to formally word these ideas. I then provided further instruction on the use of connecting words such as "for example, likewise and similarly " to assist Atticus in forming his sentences. Last, I addressed phrases to begin contrast sentences such as : unlike and subordinate clauses beginning with although and while. We are progressing well and should complete a good draft tomorrow.
