He talked too much other than class, and tried to change subject which he is supposed to learn. He still touched manga today, and asked to go to bathroom twice. He had better have better focus.
Atticus took a retest and made a 100%. He completed an activity describing the 3 kingdoms of Ancient Egypt. He read out loud the first article in our new chapter on the Pyramids.
While checking last night's homework, Atticus and I discussed the difference between variables and how one changes in response to the other, how one is not affected by other variables, and how to determine if one is dependent upon the other. He was eager to take the lesson's quick quiz stating that he was confident with the concept. Atticus took his time, thoroughly read the questions, and carefully answered, scoring 100%. We finished with a review of evaluating equations by multiplying by the reciprocal and he was assigned the remainder of problems for homework.
As Atticus completed reading the novel last night, we discussed the development of all of the major characters. I noted that often novels portray how events in one's life alter character. We discussed how Omri's decision to return his toy figures to their time in history and to return the magic key to his mother are evidence of his maturity as Omri does what is best for Boone and Little Bear even though it saddens him. Again, we noted Omri's parental role. We further discussed how Little Bear and Boone both shed their mutual animosity that arose from racial prejudice consequent to their learning to appreciate another culture. We last discussed how to prepare for tomorrow's final test on the novel.

Lesson Comments
Due to scheduled recess ,we had an abbreviated class today.
Today, we completed a lab activity exploring how our body receives information through touch. Atticus was blindfolded and with a marker I made a dot on the following places on his body: fingertip, back of hand, elbow, toes, top of foot, knee, back of neck and nose. Then, with a different colored marker and still blindfolded, Atticus tried to put a dot exactly where I had placed the original dot. With a ruler, he measured the distance between the two dots on each location. Then, he plotted the distances of the various locations on a graph. From the data, he inferred that certain places on our body are more sensitive to touch, and that's why he was more successful in accurately placing the dot on those locations, and not as successful in other places.
Atticus and I reviewed and corrected his homework on the powers of exponents. Then, today's lesson focused on understanding and identifying dependent and independent variables. We discussed the difference between the two variables and how one changes in response to the other and one is not affected by other variables. Together, we completed the lesson's examples before Atticus identified the independent and dependent variables of given situations. For homework, Atticus was assigned the lesson's practice and problem-solving.
Atticus finally completed chapter 7 quiz. he put manga away during class.he still asked me to go bathroom twice during class, and dont come back like 5 minutes, and walking around hallway.I will follow him to go bathroom next time.
