I was a substitute for Ms. Kalee from 10:30-11:15am. Ms. Kalee stated that they were finished with their curriculum so, I had him complete a Grade 9/10 ReadWorks reading.
We began class by discussing the saying, Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. Cameron summarized what this means in his own words. When asked to provide an example from our world today, he said Russian aggression and the war in Ukraine. We then discussed interesting and unknown facts from history. Cameron was already familiar with some of them, too!
10-6 Operations with Functions – We learned to combine functions using arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Then we combined functions to solve real-world problems. We discovered that functions can be combined in the same way as numbers, expressions, and polynomials. Addition, subtraction, and multiplication can be used to find (f + g) (x), (f – g) (x), and (f x g) (x). Then Cameron completed the end-of-year Algebra 1 Test and did very well.
In today's class, we continued on our topic of anatomy and physiology. Cameron finished working on a quiz that tests the remaining material we learned on the human body. This includes connective tissue, muscle tissue, nervous tissue, and the skeletal system.
Today we talked about all the countries that have Spanish as their official language. Then we watched a video about the different accents and the difference in grammar in Spanish-speaking countries. He completed two activities from Studyspanish.com.
