In today's class, we continued our discussion on anatomy and physiology, including watching a Crash Course video on tissues. This video went over the main types of tissues we have in our body, including what their function is and where they are located. We then practiced our anatomical terms and directions.

Augusto Pinochet was dictator and president of Chile from 1973-1990. Before forming his military "junta,", Pinochet was as an army officer. Aftr the government of President Salvador Allende fell in 1974, Pinochet became President of Chile until 1990. Pinochet's term in power was characterized by violence against political adversaries. In 1987, multiple civil society and political organizations established a coalition and successfully removed Pinochet from power. In 1998, he was arrested in London to stand trial in a Spanish court for crimes of genocide and terrorism carried out during his presidency. After two years of awaiting trial, Pinochet was released back to Chile, where he was again charged with crimes against humanity. However, none of the cases against the former president ever reached court. Pinochet died in December, 2006, at the age of 91.
In today's class, we would have continued our discussion on anatomy and physiology, including watching a Crash Course video on tissues. This video would have went over the main types of tissues we have in our body, including what their function is and where they are located. We then would have practiced our anatomical terms and directions.
