Topic 4 Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities
Lesson Outline
We began reviewing for a test on Topic 4 Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities. We practiced graphing to find a solution to 2 equations with 2 unknowns. Then we practiced using substitution and elimination.
In today's class, we continued our discussion on cell structure and function, including the types of pumps you can find in the cell membrane, homeostasis, the concentration gradient, and passive transport. Cameron took notes that followed along with the material.
When Napoleon returned to France in 1814, the military supported him, and the people cheered him as he entered Paris, restoring him to power. Austria, Britain, Prussia and Russia formed an alliance to stop Napoleon. Britain, and Prussia planned to join their forces in Belgium to defeat Napoleon. Knowing two forces were joining, Napoleon planned to divide and conquer. Napoleon scored a victory in Ligny against the Prussians, preventing the forces from joining. Napoleon then headed north to begin the conflict with Wellington, known as the Battle of Waterloo. Napoleon's famous Imperial Guard advanced but drew back when about 400 were destroyed. Napoleon fled and four days later surrendered his leadership position in France and was exiled permanently to the Isle of St. Helena, where he died six years later.
Napoleon Bonaparte brought order to France after the violence of the French Revolution. He appointed himself Emperor of France after a revolution to end monarchy! A successful military and political leader, he led many armed conflicts from 1803 to 1815 called the Napoleonic Wars. His conquests for power led to battle after battle and continuous war throughout Europe as he conquered much of Europe. Many in Europe opposed Napoleon and attempted to stop his conquests. After more than a decade of Napoleonic Wars, Napoleon was exiled to Elba, an island off the coast of Italy. Louis the XVIII was put on the throne of France as king. Napoleon escaped from exile in February of 1815 and returned to France and to cheering crowds...but his comeback was not for long.

Cameron has a good understanding of a very basic business plan model. He was enthusiastic when I began discussing Consumer Bahavior and how Marketing ties into all Business aspects.
In today's class, we continued our discussion on cell structure and function, including talking about homeostasis, the different kinds of pumps that can be found in the cell membrane, and the concentration gradient. Cameron also completed his final bacteria activity now that all of our bacteria have grown on our petri dishes from the other day. This includes some final wrap-up questions on what he learned about bacteria.
