In today's class, we began our introduction into cell structure and function, including discussing the few people who were behind the discovery of the cell and cell theory, which includes the three different steps that compose the theory. Cameron took notes that followed along with the information presented.
Queen Elizabeth I was the last monarch from the House of Tudor. She ruled England through its Golden Age from 1558 to 1604. The Golden Age was an era famous for England's growing wealth and prosperity. Its economic development was largely attributed to the trading of wool and the enclosure of land. The period of peace saw a significant increase in arts and culture. The respected works of names like William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, and Thomas Kyd helped mark this era. In addition to culture, the aspect of exploration and scientific discovery also brought rise to respected explorers such as Francis Bacon, John Dee, Sir Francis Drake, and Sir Walter Raleigh.

We reviewed for a test on Lessons 4-1 Solving Systems of Equations by Graphing and 4-2 Solving Systems of Equations by Substitution. We completed the homework from the weekend.
Assignment: For homework complete 2 assigned problems.
In today's class, Cameron worked on an in-class homework that covered everything we've learned so far in the class, including DNA, the scientific method and chemistry. Cameron was able to ask questions if/when he was confused about something and did very well answering the questions.
Assignment 7 required a comparison of Sole Proprietorship and Corporations. At the end of the Assignment, Cameron decided he preferred to work at a smaller company compared to a larger corporation based on questions in the assignment.
Ivan IV, or Ivan the Terrible, was an influential ruler in the late sixteenth century. His father, Ivan the Great, had driven the Mongols from Moscow. In 1547 he took control of the entire kingdom of Russia. This was the first time that centralized government was introduced in Russia. Ivan had a traumatic childhood. When he took the throne, he imprisoned and executed many people. Accomplishments of Ivan IV include: establishing a standing army, revising the legal code, including instituting tax reforms, creating a parliament and council of nobles, formalizing the position of the Russian Church, ushering in the beginning of the Russian feudal serfdom system, expanding Russian territory, commissioning the building of St. Basil's Cathedral.
