Then went over slides about school subjects and translations. Discussed similarities and differences to American school system schedule and subjects. Went over the holidays students in Germany have as compared to American students.

Late start and computer difficulties starting after the break for Joshua so I assigned some homework, but it's ok if he doesn't have time until Tuesday's class.
German conversation about the weekend and then discussed the summary of the story die Bremer Stadtmusikanten assignment. Then discussed the brothers Grimm and Joshua began research on why they are famous, when they were famous, and for what works.

Today I was late 15 minutes so I didn't include that. We received 4 inches of snow this morning and the roads were extremely slippery.

Lesson Outline
Conversation in German of what Joshua did on the weekend. Then he wrote it down and submitted the text.
Review of the genitive case - possessive in German - watched video using the genitive in context and then went over with a google slide individual examples in context.
Then previewed German vocabulary for the Grimm Brothers' Fairytale - The Bremen City Musicians and then watched one time and discussed what is happening in the fairy tale, the themes and morals of it, the characters and unknown vocabulary. Then watched it a second time so that Joshua can take notes to prepare an outline in German and then Wednesday work on a retelling (8-10 sentences) of the framework of the story. Then Thursday tell who the Grimm Brothers were and when and why they were important to German Literature and our English literature.
Completed the slide presentation on Unterschiede zwischen US und Deutschland. Joshua read a snipped of an article in German about how Abendbrot began in Germany in the 1920s through the industrialisation of the cities and opening of factories with cafeterias for the hardworking men.
