Liam and I began our session with a calendar activity – identifying the month, day of the week, date, time, weather, and his feelings. Liam then completed a warm-up activity focusing on math skills. Lastly, Liam and I reviewed Topic 4 Assessment: Use Multiplication to Divide - reviewing incorrect answers. Liam had difficulty with selecting 'all' that apply.

Begin with a yoga flow warm-up and stretch.

Then we will play basketball till Liam scores 50 hoops.

After every 10 shots scored we will move sideways playing catch.

After all the drills we will try to score on the tall hoop.

Liam studied his vocabulary words, their definitions, and read the story, "Big Ideas from Nature." We explored the main ideas, the story details, the sequence of events, and the importance of problem solving.

Liam learned what a barometer is and what it is used for. He made a student barometer to use in class for the month of March to predict the weather.

Liam made his Dr. Seuss hat. He completed his new March calendar. He learned about the Maple tree and how we only get maple syrup from the Maple tree in March. He completed several activities demonstrating his knowledge of the 4 types of sentences. He read a story about how bats inspired scientists to create a cane that used sound waves for blind people. He reviewed all his vocabulary words and their definitions for this story.

Liam imaged, read, spelled, and manipulated sounds in two-syllable words with affixes and the schwa sound. He broke words into syllables and identified open and closed patterns.
Finally, he read chapter one of ‘Horrible Harry in Room 2B.’

Lastly, Liam completed Topic 4 Vocabulary Review focusing on vocabulary such as dividend, divisor, even number, odd number, fact family, product, and quotient.

Liam reviewed his vocabulary for his next literature story. He then asked if he could learn to draw a character named, Chris Kratt. We did some research online and found one that showed him step by step instructions on how to draw this character. He did an excellent job following directions to recreate the character. Then he wrote an adventure story about Chris Kratt and his space craft that transported him to far away places.
