As a substitute for PJ's Spanish class today, I decided to show a video of the settlement of Florida in the 1500's by the Spanish, especially due to the expeditions of navigator Ponce de Leon. This gave PJ an important historical perspective on the Spanish "roots" in Florida and how Florida eventually became a state in 1845..

PJ was well focused during our discussion today of Separation of Powers within the US Government and Constitution, We also discussed the 1st US Government Articles of Confederation and why it failed and was quickly replaced by the Constitution.

During today's lesson on various Software Types and usage, PJ was somewhat focused (on and off) and needed assistance in organizing notes and handout materials into a folder pouch. PJ has some prior knowledge of these software types and applications, but needs deeper attention to details in order to fully grasp the specific definitions and important uses of various common software systems.

Lesson 2 Building a Time Line – We learned that the geologic timescale interpreted from rock strata provides a way to organize Earth’s history. Analyses of rock strata and the fossil record provide only relative dates, not an absolute scale. Then we discovered that time, space, and energy phenomena can be observed at various scales using models to study systems that are too large or too small.
