Today, we discussed Kaitlin's musical progress and preferences.

We continued playing through some of the songs we are learning, and we focused on the intro to The General, and the chord progression to Something in the Orange.

We worked on learning basic fretting and strumming technique. We learned the G, Cadd9, D, and Em chords, and worked on strumming and switching between chords while keeping a steady rhythm.

We practiced some of the songs we've been learning. We worked on hammer on and pull off technique.

We worked on playing several songs that we have been working on for a few weeks, and we began learning There Goes My Hero by the Foo Fighters. We discussed capo placement and how to know what key you are playing in based on the fret the capo is on, and which chord shape family you are playing.

We worked on playing some first position chords, and strumming patterns. We worked on switching smoothly between chords.

We began working on the intro and chord progression to The General by Dispatch. We discussed some music theory, and the relationships between the major and minor chords in each key.

We continued working on the different parts of Simple Man - flat picking the intro and verses, strumming the chord progression during the choruses, and the transitional lead line in the breaks. We learned the chord progression to Upside Down by Jack Johnson, and we began working on the chord progression to Wagon Wheel.

We worked on learning the opening chord progression and lead guitar intro to The Unforgiven by Metallica.
