Nicky and I completely read through Chapter 5, lesson 2, before moving on to interactive whiteboard learning about the constitution - relating aspects of the federalism/anti-federalism debate to modern politics.

Nicky worked to achieve 80% on recommended skills in IXL. 80% is the requirement of the program. After correctly utilizing IXL, Nicky now wants to be assessed to demonstrate his growth by the end of the year. This is a big improvement in his attitude towards academics!
Review surface area of prisms, pyramids, cones, spheres and test. Nicky and I went over his test from yesterday on area. He got 82% as his final grade. I am really proud of him for trying harder and using his resources. Today he tested on surface area. I reminded him to use his notes and his reference sheet before answering questions.

Nicky is a perceptive reader and understands the classic novella Of Mice and Men.
I. Via guided reading, the student will identify and analyze complicating incidents and characters in Of Mice and Men. Nicky really seems to be understanding and enjoying Of Mice and Men, his first true classic novel.
We discussed the supply chain mechanics and how products get from producers to consumers. We looked at logistical challenges and related real life examples.
Review area of parallelograms, triangles, trapezoids, and circles. Test on area.
Nicky tested on the area but did not do well on area of a trapezoid. He had his reference sheet but did not do well. He got each one of the questions wrong. I will review the area of trapezoids with him once more and let him redo those questions.
