Libby used rubber stamps and magic change color markers to practice letters of the alphabet. She used the paper with a house symbol to write attic letters (b, d, f, h, k, l, t). We used lively letter cards to start practicing the sound the letters make. I read Grouchy Ladybug while Libby played with the puppet.

Libby completed her interactive calendar. She wrote and identified her ABC's. She read and watched a video about how bees help pollinate poppy flowers. She put together puzzle pieces that helped her review her 5 senses. She learned about what a chemical reaction is by turning Jello into gumdrops.

Read, Make, and Write 4 and 5
Lesson Outline
Libby began with the number of the day activity. She practiced writing the number 2 in standard and word form, circled it on a number line, colored 2 base ten blocks, and wrote the 1 less and 1 more digit. Today's lesson focused on reading and writing the numbers 4 and 5. Libby practiced counting items and writing the number that told how many. We finished with a recognizing and counting numbers 1 - 6 game called Popcorn. We took turns rolling a die, counting the dots, finding the piece of popcorn with the amount rolled on the gameboard, and covering it with a popcorn kernel. The first player with 4 in a row won the game.

Occupational Therapy Treatment Session
Lesson Outline
Libby was seen in her room for a 45-minute treatment session with the focus of therapy on fine motor skills specially grasp patterns, ocular motor skills (saccades), self care skills, and handwriting. Began today session reestablishing rapport which Libby which was easy to do. Libby was excited to share what she wore over the summer and was interested in putting back up her reward chart for her hair and clothes. She further reported that she only put on her braids when she was in camp otherwise she wore it down. Continued treatment with ocular motor activity that worked on convergence. Libby was asked to draw a small nose on ladybug faces hung on vertical plane. She continued to work on depth perception with straw and small stick activity. She did well with both tasks. Lastly, we went over alphabet to determine which uppercase letter she was able to identify from recall. She was able to recall 17/26 letters correctly. She was unable to identify the following letters: F, E, H, J, M, O, S, U, and V". Great first session.

Lesson Outline
Libby used twistables markers and magnetic letters to practice letters. We used Lively Letters to look at graphics to remember the letters and sounds. Libby wrote "first floor letters" (a,c, e, i, m, n, o, r, s, u, v, w, x, z) on paper with a house at the beginning of the line to help with the size of the letters. I read Tops and Bottoms to her while she played with the bear and rabbit stuffed animals from the story.

Today's lesson practiced reading, making, and writing 1, 2, and 3. Libby drew counters to model numbers and practiced writing the number to tell how many. To correlate with this lesson, Libby played a matching game with the numbers 1 - 3 in standard and word form. Finally, Libby finished her jellyfish counting activity from yesterday.

Lesson Outline
Reviewed what we learned about maps from yesterday. Using the map examples in the book, we looked at the map of our school and pointed out things that were the same and different. Libby then started asking about Utah and where is it on the US map. We found it and she talked about the mountains and snow being different than here. She remembered where Florida was on the map and pointed it out.

Yoga and Breathing
Lesson Outline
Libby learned and practiced several yoga poses today: butterfly, mountain, fish, cat, cow, downward dog, table, mouse, and even a supported handstand! We incorporated deep, slow breaths in and out with each pose. She loved it, and is a natural!
