Libby completed her interactive calendar, read and discussed her vocabulary words,
finished her calendar talk activity, worked on her phonics lesson, put together her daily sentence puzzle, read her barometer and wrote her findings in her logbook, and predicted today's weather.
Libby experimented with clay and created characters. She used her creative imagination and imagery skills to finish a previous art project and create two new ones based on favorite characters to add to her dollhouse. We baked each in the oven for 10 minutes.

I subbed for Alexandra in art today, Thursday, 5/10/24, from 1:23 - 2:08.
Libby and I read in Spanish about a dog biscuit going to school. We then read two stories that use the phrase, "Donde Esta?"
I then asked Libby the question "Donde esta?" about several people. She understood the question every time that I asked her today as demonstrated by her English answers.

Libby loved making miso soup! She specifically requested it last week and then shared with me today that its her favorite food, so I'm glad it lived up to her expectations. Libby did a great job prepping the tofu and even helped slice the scallions for the garnish. She had two big bowls herself and enthusiastically shared the rest with teachers. We may have to make another batch soon so that she can bring some home to share with her parents.
Today, we focused on recognizing, writing, and saying the numbers 1 through 100 individually and without using rote counting. Libby listened to spoken 2-digit numbers, found the numbers on her hundreds chart, and wrote each number. She was encouraged to listen carefully and look for patterns in the chart.
Libby completed her interactive calendar, read and discussed her vocabulary words, finished her calendar talk activity, put together her daily sentence puzzle, worked on her phonics activities, observed the eggs in the incubator, read and discussed her Scholastic News Magazine about hummingbirds, checked on her rain cycle puddle and rain gauge, read her barometer and made recordings in her logbook, and talked about the seasons.
Today, we had a rainy yucky day, so we stayed inside and played Monopoly.
It is amazing how quickly Libby and Teddy have learned the game.
Both of them are very smart and both of them know how to play.
