Libby was seen in her room for a 45-minute treatment session with the focus of therapy on fine motor skills specifically grasp patterns, ocular motor skills (saccades), self care skills, and handwriting. OT has also focused on sensory processing and having Libby be more comfortable with wearing a variety of clothes (weather appropriate) and different hairstyles (only wants to wear her hair one way which is down). Libby continues to be encouraged with a sticker chart to wear different clothes and her hair different ways. She is excited to report what she wore and how she styled her hair over the past week to earn stars on her chart. We continued therapy with recall for upper case letters. Libby is now able to identify all of the letters of the upper case alphabet with 100% accuracy. We continued our work on Print Island. Libby was taught the "fall down, climb up letter" lowercase "r" two weeks ago. Today she was instructed on the lowercase letter "n". She was able to form and size it well when provided with a coconut and a trunk as a visual boundary. By the end of the practice page she was able to form it independently well. We continue to work on hand strength, dexterity and manipulation to work the intrinsic muscles of her hands. Great session, Libby is making good gains this year.
Libby began by using proper number formation to write the numbers 1 through 10 from memory and used number tracing for the numbers that were a struggle. Then, she worked on an activity on ordering the numbers 1 -20. Libby colored strip puzzles numbered 1 -20, cut them into individual strips, rearranged the strips correctly to recreate the picture, and glued them onto construction paper.
Recall what it means to reuse things. Introduce "reduce & recycle" vocabulary. Use picture cards to talk about different ways to do these. Color them and put the pairs together to make a small book.

Lesson Comments
We were reviewing the cardinal directions and while Libby will say the correct ones when I point to the card and sound the first letter, today, she looked at the card for West and said it without me prompting the first letter. I told her I was so proud of her for seeing and then saying the word.
Libby and I did balloon breathing. We practiced meditation before and after practicing some yoga poses. We practiced butterflied, forearm handstand, plank, banana, banana split and mountain pose.
We learned about counting rhythms in 4, and we played along to some rhythm examples on the drums. We made sure our grip on the drum sticks were correct. We played some on the electric keyboard.
Use page 58-59 to introduce ch. 2 lesson 5 in the workbook. Talk about what it means to reuse things and why it is good to do it. Read 80-83 in textbook and discuss what items can be reused. Recall Johnny Appleseed and what he did to help the Earth.
