We are studying areas that are of interest to Stephen. We exchanged ideas about future projects related to social studies topics and planned for next class. We will move on to character education in eStudies Weekly.
Yanuell and I took some time to get to know each other today. Miss Katie and Jackson helped break the ice and then dinosaurs finally brought us together! After that we spent the majority of our time reading about and discussing the Statue of Liberty. Yanuell also did the BrainPop Jr. and completed both quizzes. Yanuell is so interested in history! He is a great conversationalist!
Symbols and documents of our country: Today we reviewed the symbols of our county, flag, eagle,Pledge of Allegiance, and being a good citizen. We discussed these areas and viewed pictures of the American Flag, showed a short video about our nation's song, The Star Spangled Banner and how it came about. Great job,Ben.
Today I subbed with Sam. We watched videos about historic St Augustine. We also saw some cool videos about old historic houses in Florida! She has traveled to St. Augustine and was able to recognize places she had been on the video!
A new Country: First lesson in social studies today. Introduced Ben to the foundation of how our country was formed, The Pledge of Legions, The American Flag, bald eagle, and The Bill of Rights. He listened and seemed to comprehend most of the points as we discussed them. Good going ,Ben, we will continue this topic Friday.
