Stephen and I read a Studies Weekly section on Abraham Lincoln and "Doing the Right Thing." He learned about the 16th president, the character traits of loyalty and honesty, and the inclusion of Honest Abe in Mount Rushmore.
Today we will explore more about Florida Flora and Fauna and issues related to conservation. Today was the day of the Winter Recital and a birthday party, so we were unable to complete the lesson. I organized Sam's room, which had gotten away from her.
We read together about Ponce de Leon and about the early treatment of the Seminoles.

Sam was ebullient today and alternately stood on top of her chair and played with her legos while I read aloud and asked her questions. She was able to correctly answer all of the summarizing and drawing inference questions as we went along. Impressive.
