Today Stephen wanted to build a large Washington Monument. He folded and built his monument using white paper. Then he made flags to circle the monument. WE used hot glue and clay to put the project all together. We discussed the difference between a monument and a memorial!

Great Inventors: Oliver and Wilber Wright the first air flight, Ben Franklin bifocal glasses, Graham Bell invention of the telephone. Ethan was introduced to other inventors who changed our world. He realized things were not always the way they are today, over time inventions and progress have changed our world. For Bible we watched the animation of " The Walls of Jericho". Good job Ethan
Ending the Revolution, Once and for All- This was the signing of the Peace Treaty at Yorktown, the Surrender of British General Cornwallis. Ben Franklin got France to help us get the victory. Ben was able to speak French, that helped us a great deal. John Adams and John Jay were present at the signing of the treaty. King George kept troops in the United States even after the white flag was waved. Good job Marina!
Great Inventors and what they invented. Orville and Wilbur Wright, first air flight, Graham Bell, the telephone, Dr, Carlos Finley proved that mosquitoes carried yellow fever, Benjamin Franklin experiments with electricity and inventing the bifocal glasses, Thomas Jefferson the light bulb and more than 1,000 inventions. Mountain Men Explorers and Guides: With the expansion of the Louisiana Purchase many mountain men such as Jim Bridger, first to explore Yellowstone National Park, Kit Carson, Jim Bowie, and many other explorers, mapped, who later became guides and scouts for the new territory. Their contributions provided directions for the settlers moving to the west. Marina wrote about these men and their contributions. Good Job marina
Today Stephen worked on his John Adams baseball card. He watched a short video on John Adams. Stephen used the president fan deck and the internet to complete his project. Great job Stephen!
The Louisiana Purchase: We review details of the Louisiana Purchase. Marina was given a basic
format how to write a paper giving names and details of the events. She did a fairly good job, with encouragement, writing her paper for the first time. This will improve with practice. Good job Marina keep it up.
