Christopher and I reviewed the landforms we discussed yesterday. Christopher and I watched a second
landform video and reviewed mountains, hills, plateaus, canyons, and plains. Christopher drew a landform on his virtual whiteboard and I had to guess which landform it was.
Macy and I reviewed her worksheet for "The Exodus" card, and she felt confident enough in the material to move forward and take her test today (instead of tomorrow).
She even asked to throw a bonus question in for her.
We finished the period with some time outside.

It was really hard to get her to focus again, and she really doesn't enjoy writing a lot. I'm not sure if it's just not a strength of her, but she struggles with the writing aspect of our time together, for sure.
Macy and I reviewed a little bit about the Plagues of Egypt before she took her assessment on the material from this week. She had a few review questions on there from past work, as well, so it was good to see her rack her memory for those answers, too!

She did NOT want to focus today, and she had a lot of resistance about taking the test even though she knew the material really well. She was acting very goofy and just wanted to build a fort...Eventually, she completed the test, but it was definitely a battle to keep her attention focused and on task today.
Macy and I worked reviewed Card #23 (Plagues of Egypt) and completed the worksheet for her test tomorrow. We'll review a little bit tomorrow before having her test, but she's remembering this information well.
Once she completed her worksheet and took some notes, we went outside to play some soccer and a "cause and effect" game that taught some reading comprehension. She seemed to actually enjoy it!

She squirmed a lot at the beginning of class, and even though she could tell me the answers, she was distracted and procrastinating actually writing them on the sheet. I ended up motivating her with going outside once she was done, and that seemed to help, but it was really difficult to get her to focus at first.
Macy and I read the next card in her Biblical History deck (covering Exodus 3-12 - the Plagues of Egypt) and the associated notes with it. We also played a matching game to connect the 10 plagues with the Egyptian God that it corresponded to.
Ben worked on selecting social studies topics to study. He selected ancient Rome, Teenage life in ancient Rome, Early civilizations of China, Amphibians. He watched a video clip about teenage life in ancient Rome.

Xavier showed me his completed PowerPoint for the Virginia colony presentation. He sent it to the teacher this morning and checked with her at school to be sure she received it. We worked on his president speech, using the book he brought, two websites, and two videos. We need to gather more information and revise the document to submit a draft by next Wednesday. We did not practice his Wordly Wise.

He did his word cards for Wordly Wise before our session. He said he left his math paper at home. He read Savage Sam on his own and wants me to help him with his book report. He wants to use the Ben Carson book for his other book report. He did well planning ahead and working to get things done.
