Bobby Morris
November 13, 2014
Thursday 60 min
1:30-2:30
I substituted for Bobby’s regular teacher, and we worked on his social studies. The lesson plan required Bobby to decide if he wanted to create a report on Florida, the state, or on Jupiter/Tequesta, the smaller municipalities. Bobby chose Jupiter and Tequesta. There was next to nothing in his social studies textbook on these towns, so we proceeded to the Computer. We discussed why he would want to be careful using Wikipedia for information, and proceeded to the official website for Jupiter and Tequesta. We read about the history together, taking turns explaining to each other what we had read. I had him take notes on dates, and names. We then came up with the intro for a report. I wrote out some of the text, leaving spaces for him to fill in the facts. In this fashion, he completed a one-page report on the history of Jupiter and Tequesta.
