Old World Meets New World: Marina loved the article about The Columbian Exchange, she enjoyed how many of our foods came from different parts of the world, and how Christopher Columbus brought about the exchanges between countries. She was fascinated when comparing the instant speed of internet today compared how mail was delivered by boats and horses taking months to arrive. Great job Marina
The Pilgrims Come to America: Ethan did a good job today reviewing the dates and location where the Pilgrims landed. He also explained the how a storm blew them off course causing them to land in Massachusetts. Unfortunately that landing caused most of them to starve and freeze loosing more then half their population, during the first winter. Ehtan told how the Indians taught the Pilgrims how to grow corn and fertilize with a fish. We completed vocabulary words and learned the difference between facts and opinion. Great job Ethan
New World Explorers: Anna and Quinn did a great job today as they were introduced to Ponce De Leon, naming our state "Florida". The Lewis & Clark Expedition, crossing from St. Lewis to the Pacific Ocean. They had a fun time learning about the history of the New World. Great job Anna and Quinn.

Early French and English Explorers: Marina was introduced to French and English Explorers from 1450 to 1687. European nations sought to claim land in the New World, French and English leaders fought each other for power and territorial rights. Some explorers wanted a shortcut to Asia, others claimed the North American eastern coast, and Canada. Marina read about their exploitations, success, and failures. Very good lesson

Will and I reviewed the concept of Articles and Amendments in the U.S. Constitution. He read from the text about these concepts, and then we discussed how they are used today. He is very interested in the subject, and he likes to read aloud.
