Luke watched and discussed a science video on the process of pollination. He completed a little booklet describing pollen. He read his vocabulary words and completed his interactive calendar. We reviewed the life cycle of a bee, and created a pocket for his sequencing card of the life cycle to put into his interactive science notebook.
We continued to discuss geography and reviewed subject-specific vocabulary pertaining to maps. I showed Luke the new globe we ordered and just received today and he and a peer examined and explored different areas of interest. We reviewed the cardinal directions and asked a staff member to point out the state where he lived. Luke was queried and correctly identified the continent and location of the state relative to Florida (North); we reviewed the cardinal directions and Luke happily identified Miami as a city he visited. The globe was quite the hit!
Luke has been reallly interested in bulding Geographical puzzles, so we located and named some European countries, and listened to some traditional music from them.

Lesson Outline
Luke completed his interactive calendar. He read and discussed his vocabulary words. He completed several activities about the life cycle of a bees. He watched and discussed "The Magic School Bus," science video about bees, explaining how and why they make honey.
To consolidate and reinforce learning gains, I asked Luke to assemble a fifty-piece puzzle of Asia. He was queried about vocabulary and the size of the continents as we worked. Luke was very pleased to have completed the entire puzzle within the session's time. We took a picture of it and Luke was encouraged to consider making a morning announcement showcasing his achievement.
Luke opened a Pokemon file that he started in a previous class. I worked with Luke to import a reference image to complete one of the characters in his illustration. Luke was able to complete one of the four characters.
