Lesson Outline
After a review, Dylan did well blending words with beginning digraphs that were followed by a short vowel and then a consonant(s). He did well determining the digraph with which a given picture started. Dylan read a short book that focused on short vowel sounds. I read him a short story that focused on digraphs. He did well hearing the words with digraphs. Dylan also did well answering questions related to the characters, setting and sequence of events in the story. We talked about fact vs. opinion. We worked on a paragraph about Dylan's favorite fruit together. Together, we completed a circle map, prewriting graphic organizer and then wrote a paragraph using the prewriting tools. Tomorrow, Dylan will practice using the same tools to write his own paragraph. Lastly, I read part of the book, 'Gulliver's Travels' to Dylan. He enjoyed listening to the story and predicting what would happen next.
