First we went over the "big six elements of life" and their relative masses. GT was able to guess 4 of them. We discussed the role of various elements in living things. GT then labeled the parts of a compound light microscope. We discussed the difference between light microscopes and electron microscopes, and looked at images from both on the computer. GT then examined several types of cells under the microscope, including blood cells, diatoms, and nerve cells.
He was very careful with the microscope and did a good job with it.
