Lesson Outline
We started with a game of Alphabet Bingo, voicing all letter sounds. I taught a quick lesson on the concept of closed and open syllables. We then played a game of Connect 4 with the pieces labeled with either open or closed words. We then played a game of sight word Jenga which Kaniyah loved. She wanted to write on the board so I dictated a simple sentence, emphasizing capitalization and punctuation. We then switched places and she dictated a sentence to me. We found a label maker and Kaniyah made a label to put her name on the door and made one to take home. We concluded the session with a game of Slap! with closed syllables. Great job today!

She is a sweet, very polite little girl. She knows her letter sounds and understands decoding and blending 3 letter words; she just needs to remember to apply these skills. She is fun to work with.
