Audrey and I first did an annotating exercise. Audrey said that she sometimes loses focus as she reads and forgets what she has read, so we worked on strategies such as annotating which help you interact with a literary text and remember what you read. She did well with the exercise. We then took turns reading from the novel trying to apply some of the annotating skills.
