Letter Identification – Penny continued to play the game from yesterday, where she picked a letter card, told me its name, and placed it on the floor. She then selected a block out of a bag and had to tell me the letter sound. She placed it on the matching letter card that was on the floor. She matched a block for each letter then we placed all cards in alphabetical order.
Sight Words – Penny is working on blending 2 sounds together to make a word such as; am, is, it, and at. This blending activity will be used often to form words easily sounded out.
Letter Sounds – Today we played school, sometimes Penny was teacher and at times I was (ha, ha). Using a pointer and an alphabet strip we would sing an alphabet “sound” song and then, each taking turns, would point to a letter and give its name and sound. This will be a game we play often.
