Letter Recognition/Initial Consonant sound – picking up a picture card Penny had to make the initial sound of the picture and determine which letter it started with, placing the picture on the corresponding letter card.
Letter Formation – Using wooden rods in the shapes of a “C” and “I”, large and small in size, she made all the upper-case letters of the alphabet. She also gave its sound.
Sight Words – Blending 2 sounds to make a word such as; as, it, an, am, is, on, and more is a fun and great way to begin to read. Penny was teacher today, but the teacher seemed to want to say the answer!!!!
