Math – Kelcy completed 15 minutes of i-Ready then we worked on reviewing Unit 2 for a test. Next he completed problems requiring the use of the distributive property, fact families, and patterns. He completed several word problems involving division and multiplication. He practiced division by 6.
Science – Day 4: Kelcy learned that trees make more food than they need during the spring and summer which helps them survive during the cold winter months. Then he learned that most farmers are afraid of the temperature dropping suddenly during spring because a freeze during spring hurts plants that are trying to grow new leaves which are needed for performing photosynthesis. Next he completed his poster on photosynthesis.
