Lesson Outline
Math – Kelcy continued to learn about the new topics in Lesson 14 which involve finding the area of a plane figure in unit squares. He practiced finding the area of squares and rectangles that he designed. Then Kelcy practiced multiplication facts he needed to work on.
Science – We checked our science experiment after three days of soaking and recorded the results in our science workbook. After the flowers sat in the water over the weekend we observed a more noticeable color change to the petals of the flowers in the blue and green water. This further proved that the water that is absorbed at the roots travels from the stem out to the flowers. Then Kelcy made a hypothesis on what would happen to the petals of the flowers if we split the stem and put each part in two different colors.
