Math – Kelcy worked on finding the area of rectangles by multiplying the length by width. Then he began to learn that fractions are numbers that name parts of a whole or part of a group. He learned that the part of the fraction below the line tells how many equal parts are in the whole is called the denominator. Then he learned that the part of the fraction above the line that tells how many equal parts are being counted is called the numerator.
Science – Kelcy learned that fossils are the remains or traces of a plant or animal that lived long ago. Then he learned that they are formed when living things die quickly and are covered with sediment before they decay. He knows that this process takes thousands or millions of years.
