Session Date
Lesson Topic
reading comprehension and literary analysis
Lesson Outline
We began the session by watching a short YouTube video detailing children's evacuation from London before the Blitz. I think that the footage showing the children on the trains, coupled with interviews, helped Jasmine to visualize the setting from the book and to make it feel more "real." We co-read three chapters of the novel. Jasmine continues to impress me with her reading fluency and comprehension. After a long day at school, I recognize that online tutoring can be challenging, and I appreciate her effort. Good job, Jasmine!

Lesson Comments
Jasmine was a little more engaged today. I get the sense that she appreciates being treated "like an adult" and being given some control.
