Richard was in a great mood and excited to try some of the new games we discussed at recess with the group. With some help of an older friend, he presented his idea to the group. It was met with mixed reviews but Richard felt proud of the job he did presenting a new idea, explaining/describing it, defending it and fielding questions from the group without backing down. He is finding his voice in a positive way and it's ok to express yourself and stick up for yourself in a kind way. After sweating it out in recess, we targeted our blend sounds with ninja cards and Pokemon, creating our own game. Using many creative forms of story telling and language, it was a great and engaging activity that kept Richard challenged, yet motivated.
