Tristan and I began our session with a Nat Geo book about frogs. He was interested in learning which of them were poisonous. After that, he read a familiar phonics book to bolster confidence and fluency. Next, we partner- read a controlled vocabulary book, "Don't You Laugh at Me." Finally, he read a new phonic reader containing two vowels and silent e words. He made it to page 13 before asking for help!
