It was a pleasure getting to know Kaniyah as a reader. She was very attentive and cooperative throughout our session. She read an article from ReadWorks fluently and with strong comprehension. She also read a nonfiction book on the ReadingEggspress site, stopping frequently to summarize the text. We worked on breaking a few longer words into syllables to decode them. This is an area we will continue to focus on as we work to strengthen Kaniyah’s confidence and performance as a reader.
