Lesson Outline
1) Jessica creates character profiles for the characters Othello, Iago, Desdemona, Roderigo, Emilia, and Brabantio from Shakesperare's Othello by finding faces that best represent these individuals, as well as quotes from the text to support her analysis.
2) Jessica and I discuss Othello Act 2 scene 3: Video: the fight between Tybalt and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, how does this compare to the fight between Cassio and Roderigo? What is iambic pentameter? Find/quote a specific stanza from the play. Why does Shakespeare go in and out of iambic pentameter? How does Iago use the truth to serve his own purposes? Is he really at fault in Cassio's downfall? Why/why not? Consider freewill in your analysis of the play.
3) Jessica outlines and begins writing her Personal Statement for college.
