Lesson Outline
For today's lesson, Noelle and I looked over the mental minute that she took home for homework. This guided us to focus on fractions and division. We began with a quick refresher on basic fractions before expanding to improper fractions and mixed numbers which were explained with visual models. We also discussed how to change an improper fraction to a mixed number which was the original question from the mental minute. Then, both the standard long division and division using the box method were shown to Noelle as different strategies to solve division problems. Finally, we worked in her workbook on finding factors, greatest common factors, and multiples.
