Lesson Outline
Noelle and I continued to work with improper fractions and mixed numbers, using number lines to show how they relate and model how they can be interchanged. Then, we discussed how to find equivalent fractions which are needed when adding or subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. Noelle used multiplication to rewrite given fractions as equivalent fractions in higher terms. Then, we began work on simplifying fractions using division which we will continue next week.
