Today was my last session with Josh.
We continued with and completed Chapter 3 in the Florida Reading Grade 10 book. We worked on pages 61-78 dealing with Authors Purpose, Authors Perspective and Organizational Patterns including Comparison and Contrast, Spatial Order, Time Order, Flashback, Bulleted Lists, Question/Answer, and Argument/Support. He then took the chapter 3 assessments. Unfortunately, he did not do well on these assessments and will need to spend more time on these skills. We went over all missed questions. He admitted to being a little tired of reading today due to the PSAT testing. We ended the session in the “Monsters” book. He read and completed the questions for the “Frankenstein’s Monster” story.
At the end of the session, we spent some time with his new tutor. I was able to fill her in on what Josh has been working on.
I would like to say that it has been a pleasure working with Josh over the last year and I will miss seeing him progress in his reading. I wish him all the best always!
