ELA: We kicked off our session with grammar. Macy is reviewing prepositions. Using an online song, Macy wrote all of the prepositions in alphabetical order in preparation for a recall quiz on Friday. We then continued our study of adverbs. We completed pages 248 – 249 in her text, discussing writing with adverbs. We reviewed some adverb word lists for support and Macy revised two short passages to insert how, when, and where adverbs. Next, we checked in on her status with memorizing the lengthy poem “Paul Revere’s Ride”. We worked to smooth out a few sections where she’s having difficulty. Finally, we continued work on the novel study of Caddie Woodlawn. Macy continued her character analysis by choosing a character trait and writing a supportive statement with evidence from the text about multiple characters from the book. She also completed questions for analysis and recall from chapters 20-24. She worked to write clearly and provide adequate detail in her responses. Latin: Macy completed page 77 in her Latin workbook. This activity tasked her with providing helping verbs in the present system (present, imperfect, future) and perfect system (perfect, pluperfect, future perfect). Next, she wrote the English translation for 9 Latin sayings. Finally, she wrote the Latin translation for 10 adverbs.
