Lesson Outline
ELA: The long-awaited day has arrived, where Macy takes us on Paul Revere’s Ride! Macy has worked hard to memorize 8 stanzas of Henry Wordsworth Longfellow’s poem. She did a very nice job with her final recitation for assessment! She had a few minor words of omission (mostly prepositions or articles) and omitted two lines. She was only given 6 prompts throughout the entire 8 stanzas. I’m extremely proud of her hard work. For grammar today, Macy reviewed the prepositions. We then worked in her textbook on pages 250-251, comparing with adverbs. We reviewed the rules of using -er and -est as well as when to use “more” or “most”. Macy then worked to utilize the correct comparisons for provided words and sentences. Finally, we focused the rest of our time on literature. We reviewed her work on the Caddie Woodlawn character analysis and she provided a few more details for several items. She also wrapped up all of the comprehension questions for chapters 20 – 24. She then began researching Abraham Lincoln to complete a page in the research portion of the comprehension packet. She will utilize this information to create a Google Slide presentation. Latin: Lesson 13, workbook page 78 was the activity for today. Macy provided the two principal Latin parts for 50 English verbs. This included verbs such as to blame, to change, to create, to explore, and to think.
