Lesson Topic
Points of Concurrency
Lesson Outline
Today we finished the activity we started yesterday, reviewing the points of concurrency in triangles. We reviewed centroid, orthocenter, incenter, and circumcenter. I gave a challenge problem to Andrew. He was given a triangle and it's centroid. He had to use his graphic organizer to see that the centroid is the intersection of the medians. He recalled that medians connect the vertex to the midpoint of the opposite side. Then he was able to set up an equation to solve for the missing sides. These problems were difficult for Andrew to get started. Once we set up the equations, he did a great job solving for the variable. He was also sure to go back and check to see if he was done with the problem, or there was still more to do. We will review one more day and then have a Quiz next week.
