Teddy participated in a guided reading exercise. He selected an "I Can Read Book," entitled Mouse Soup, by Arnold Lobel. Teddy was first asked to make a prediction based on the illustration on the front cover. There were 4 stories within the story and Teddy was queried as we read each one. I used my finger to underline the words as I read aloud, occasionally pausing to allow Teddy to sound out some words. Teddy selected his favorite of the stories and summarized its main point well. We then both drew a picture of two characters from the book, and we both enjoyed a fun and productive session.
