We finished Chapter two in "The Outsiders" and discussed the story of Johnny's severe beating at the hands of the Socs. We examined the personalities of the two prominent characters in the chapter - and the two different perspectives of the Soc cheerleader, Cherry, and the narrator, PonyBoy, who come from different walks of life. We discussed the implications of the concluding line in the chapter when PonyBoy says, "I know better now." Cam contributed his thoughts about what can be inferred from that statement and how the importance of the perspective that life isn't fair applies to people across the board.
